How to Check AirPods Battery Life on iPhone and Apple Watch

AirPods are magical devices which last for 5 hours every charge. And the charging case extends it to 25 hours. When the AirPods battery is low, you’ll hear a little sound effect. But what if you want to monitor the AirPods battery life at any given moment. There are a couple of ways to do that. You’ll want to keep tabs on battery life especially if your AirPods battery is deteriorating. Here’s how to check AirPods battery life on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Check AirPods Battery Life on iPhone
Just Ask Your AirPods

If you’re already wearing your AirPods, just double-tap on the AirPods to bring up Siri (if you’re using 2nd Gen AirPods, you can just say Hey Siri) and ask “what’s the battery level” or “how much battery is left”. It will first read out the battery percentage on the iPhone and then on AirPods. You can be direct as well. Just ask “how much battery is left in AirPods for a direct answer”.
Flick Open the AirPods Case

To find out the battery life of the AirPods and case, the fastest way to do it is by flicking open the case next to your iPhone when it is unlocked. A little card will show up, telling you the exact battery life of both AirPods and the case and whether they are charging. Also Read:10 Websites to Watch Indian Live Television
The issue is that this only works when the AirPods are inside the case. To find out AirPods battery life at any given time on your iPhone, follow the next tip.
Enable the Batteries Widget on iPhone

The Batteries widget is meant to serve as a one-stop shop for battery stats for all of your connected Apple devices. It works for Apple Watch, AirPods and Beats X devices.

To enable it, swipe over to the widgets area on your Home screen, go to the bottom of the page and tap on Edit. Then tap on the green + button next to Batteries to add it. Use the handle button to rearrange it. Tap on Done to go back.

Now, as long as the AirPods are connected, you’ll see the battery percentage there. Usually, it will only show the battery stats for the AirPods. If you flick open the case while looking at the Batteries widget, it will show the case’s battery life as well.
Check AirPods Battery Life on Apple Watch

As long as all three devices – iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods – are connected to the same iCloud account and are all active, it’s quite easy to view the AirPods battery life right from your wrist.

As we’ve discussed in our AirPods tips and tricks article, go to the watch face and swipe up to reveal the Control Center. If you’re using watchOS 5 and above, you can actually hold a bit on the bottom edge of the screen and swipe up to access Control Center from anywhere in the OS.

Then tap on the Battery Percentage control. Below the battery percentage of your Apple Watch, you’ll see the battery life of your AirPods. And this even shows up if your AirPods are paired with your iPhone and not directly with your Apple Watch.
How’s Your AirPods Battery Life Been?

Now that you know about every major way to find out the AirPods battery life, you can monitor its battery levels and its deterioration easily. How long has it been since you first got your AirPods and how is the battery life right now? Share with us in the comments below.

Apple TV Stuck on Home Sharing

Top 5 Methods to Fix Apple TV Stuck on Home Sharing

We have seen people complaining about Apple TV stuck on Home Sharing when they wanted to stream iTunes content.

After trying various methods, we have brought to our readers the top 6 methods for fixing this issue. Use the methods given in this article to fix the issue and start streaming your iTunes content again.
Way 1. Check Home Sharing Settings on Apple TV

If you want Home Sharing to work properly, you need ensure that it is enabled on your Apple TV.

Step 1: Open iTunes on your computer. Go to File -> Home Sharing. In the Menu bar, turn on Home Sharing.

Step 2: In Apple TV 4th Gen: Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Home Sharing. Turn on Home Sharing; in Apple TV 3rd Gen and earlier: Go to Settings -> Computers. Turn on Home Sharing.

Step 3: After Home Sharing is enabled on your TV, you should be able to stream your iTunes content.

Way 2. Check the Apple ID on Your Apple TV

If Home Sharing is not working as intended, the problem can be with the Apple ID. Your Apple TV should be signed in with the same Apple ID, which has the content you want to watch.

Step 1: Open iTunes on your computer. Go to File -> Home Sharing. Turn off Home Sharing and then turn it on again.

Step 2: In Apple TV 4th Gen: Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Home Sharing. Now sign in with the same Apple ID; for Apple TV 3rd Gen and earlier users: Go to Settings -> Computers and sign in with the same Apple ID.

Way 3. Check Your Computer Status

Do you check your computer if it is turned on? For Home Sharing to work, your computer should be turned on and awake with iTunes running on it. If everything is running correctly, check the next solution below.
Way 4. Check the Internet Connection

If you want to use the Home Sharing feature, all the devices and your Apple TV should be on the same Wi-Fi network. It will not work if the Apple TV is on one network and the computer or Mac is on another. When you have checked that all the devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, ensure that none of them is on VPN.

Way 5. Check Security Settings

Most of the users keep various security settings on the devices. If there is a firewall or any kind of security setting, Home Sharing will not work. The firewall or security settings can even be related to your wireless router.

Facebook is Shutting Down the Group Video Chat App, Bonfire

Back in July of 2017, there was a rumor that Facebook was working on a group video chat app to take on Houseparty, another popular app at the time. A few months later and Facebook quietly launched that app — in Denmark. Now, a couple of years later and it’s time to say goodbye.

According to The Verge, Facebook is planning on shutting down Bonfire, the group video chat app, beginning this month. Support will shut down, but Facebook says it will incorporate “what we learned” into existing apps:

“In May we’ll be ending support for the Bonfire tests,” Facebook said in a statement. “We’ll incorporate elements of what we learned into other current and future products.”

If Bonfire doesn’t sound familiar at all, it might be because Facebook never actually broadened its horizons. After its launch in Denmark in 2017, the app never arrived in the United States. Houseparty, for its own part, is still active. However, it’s not known just how many users it has on a regular basis. As noted in the original report, the platform did start selling mobile games to help add to the experience.

Group video chat is a feature that Facebook isn’t giving up on, though. Indeed, the company just announced a group feature to watch videos with others within Facebook Messenger.

Instagram Unveils a New Camera Design, ‘Create Mode’, And More

Today is a busy day for Facebook and its own properties. The company is kicking off its official developers conference, F8, and with it announcing a plethora of new changes. Instagram, for instance, is seeing some important tweaks.

The social network has officially announced today several changes and new additions, including a brand new camera design, a new “Create Mode”, and much more. First up, a new camera and Create Mode, which is pictured above. Instagram says that in “the coming weeks”, it will introduce a brand new camera design that will make it even easier to use creative tools, like effects, in a shared post. Create Mode, meanwhile, is meant to make it easier to share content that isn’t reliant on a photo or video.

The new camera design and Create Mode will launch globally soon.

Instagram is also launching a new Donation Sticker. This will be available starting today in the United States. This will make it possible for Instagram users to raise money for a nonprofit right within Stories.

“To use this new feature, open the camera, take or upload a photo, tap the sticker icon and select the donation sticker from the tray. Choose a nonprofit to support and customize your fundraiser using creative tools. Once it’s live, swipe up on your story to view the total amount raised. 100% of the money you raise on Instagram goes to the nonprofit you are supporting.”

That’s not all, though. Instagram is a way for influencers and celebrities and companies to sell goods. And now the social network is making it easier to buy those items:

“Starting next week, you can shop inspiring looks from the creators you love without leaving Instagram. Instead of taking a screenshot or asking for product details in comments or Direct, you can simply tap to see exactly what your favorite creators are wearing and buy it on the spot.”

In addition to these changes to Instagram, Facebook also confirmed separately that the Facebook app proper is getting redesigned, and that the future is privacy focused.Sponsor ads:

2019 iPhone 11 Detailed CAD Rendering Reveals Single Glass Back Including Camera Bump

Leaked renders have already given us a glimpse at how the iPhone 11 will look like with a triple camera setup at the rear. Today, @Onleaks has shared 3D CAD renderings of the iPhone 11 which show the device from all possible angles.

The renderings and video don’t reveal anything new per se. The 2019 iPhone 11 is going to feature the same design language as the iPhone X and iPhone XS before it. At the rear, it will pack a triple-camera setup which includes the addition of a new ultra-wide angle sensor. A reliable analyst believes that Apple will be sourcing this 12MP 1.0um sensor from Sony.

The CAD renderings point to the iPhone 11 having a 7.8mm thickness which if true would make it just a wee bit thicker than the iPhone X and iPhone XS (7.7mm).

The leak also points to the iPhone 11 featuring a single slab of glass. This is unlike the iPhone X/XS series in which the rear glass has a cutout for the camera module.

Apart from the triple camera setup at the rear, leaks and rumors point to the iPhone 11 coming with wireless reverse charging, faster A-series processor, a higher resolution 12MP camera at the front, and more. The phone will also come with a bigger battery to ensure that the reverse wireless charging feature does not have too much of a negative impact on battery life. Apple will also switch to a frosted glass panel at the rear which should help ensure the design does not feel too dated.
Our Take

It is clear that the 2019 iPhone 11 is not going to come with a major redesign. Apple is going to continue with the same design language which it first debuted with the iPhone X in 2017 and it is only going to further build and tweak that. While the iPhone X/XS does not look outdated by any means, the continuation of the same design language is definitely going to disappoint a lot of customers.

New Report Sheds Light on Apple Card Details

Apple announced its first credit card, the Apple Card, earlier this month. And while the company had a lot to share, there were still plenty of details missing.

Today, TechCrunch has a report out that aims to shed some light on the finer details. First, the report confirms that there is no penalty interest rate. That would certainly line up with the whole “no fees” thing that Apple touted repeatedly while announcing the credit card.

“You will continue to pay your agreed upon interest rate on your outstanding balance, but that rate will not go up. It will impact your credit score, as Apple does do standard reporting, but neither Apple nor Goldman Sachs will increase your rate due to late payment.”

Apple spoke quite a lot about interest rates as well, saying they would be low. And it sounds like Apple is going to go a bit out of its way to make sure approved applicants are slotted into the lower end of their interest rate approvals. Credit score will obviously still play a major role in determining if a potential customer gets a card, but, once that is approved, Apple will put a customer into the lower end of the interest pool (between 13% and 24%).

You’ll be able to pay your balance either from Apple Cash (formerly Apple Pay Cash) or from a bank account. Apple basically already confirmed this, because the Daily Cash that owners earn is put back into Apple Cash, which can then be put towards the balance owed. Replacement physical cards are free, which is a nice touch considering the titanium design.

However, one major drawback is the detail that Apple Card does not support multiple users. So you won’t be able to have an authorized user that can access the card.

You can read the full breakdown through the source link below. It’s certainly worth a read, especially if you plan on getting the Apple Card when it launches this summer.

In related news, we know that activating the Apple Card will work the same way as activating AirPods or the HomePod: just bring the card close to the iPhone.
